The Madison County Youth Court has created a disposition alternative that is aimed at helping juveniles in the justice system change the direction of their future. Community volunteers and several local organizations have donated equipment, time and technology to make this project a success. Holmes Community College has partnered with us to provide educational instruction to our juveniles so that they can obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma under Court supervision. The Central Mississippi Planning and Development Department has awarded the Madison County Youth Court with funds that will provide educational and job skill opportunities for juveniles in the Court system. We call our project "Jobs4Youth" because a job unlocks a future that enables youth to live happy, healthy and productive lives rather than a path that leads to destruction and incarceration. Once "out of school" youth are under the Youth Court's jurisdiction either for delinquency, abuse or neglect, we want to make our court system transformational for the future of these youth and the future of our community. If you would like to learn more or volunteer please click here to get in touch with our Youth Court staff.
Sincerely,
Judge Staci O'Neal
Madison County Court Judge
