We are looking for employers who will partner with us in mentoring our participants. If your business is interested, please review the below eligibility checklist and email us to begin the application process.
All work and training sites shall observe health and safety standards established by Federal and State laws and regulations.
The primary objective of the Jobs4Youth work program is placing youth in a safe setting that will let participants learn job skills and gain positive experience in the work world. With this in mind, the following criteria have been established for employers who wish to participate in the program.
1. Employers may be “non-profit” or “for profit” public or private sector employers. Youth should be able to learn a “skill” during their work experience. Hereinafter referred to as “Employers.”
2. Employers must provide a working environment as mentors to provide guidance and support to teach job skills.
3. Employers must offer a work environment that guarantees youth will always be in the presence of two or more adults while working.
4. Employers must make every effort to ensure a drug-free work environment.
5. Employers must ensure that any employees supervising youth have passed a background check and are eligible to work with minors. Specifically, this provision is intended to protect children from those on a Sex Offender Registry.
6. Employers agree to sign a written acknowledgement wherein they agree to keep the Youth Court status of participating youth confidential. All other employees who have a purposeful need to know the youth’s status must sign this acknowledgement.
7. Employers agree to employ a participant in the program for a minimum of 300 hours. These first 300 hours will be at no cost to the employer. The Youth will be compensated for their work experience through the grant provided to the Youth Court. Youth may be terminated for cause.
8. Employers agree to communicate monthly with Youth Services regarding youth progress and hours worked.
9. Employers must carry premises liability insurance.
If you would like to be one our our participating employers, please EMAIL US.
